Guest Posted September 25, 2005 Posted September 25, 2005 hi everyone!! I'm trying desperately to "install" the .htaccess thing but for some reason it does not work!! I create the .htaccess in the folder that I want to protect and the .htpasswd outside the catalog. The problem may come from the absolute path that I'm not sure of. I'm hosted at REGISTERFLY.COM and I can't find anything below /httpdocs/ my catalog is in /httpdocs/catalog I put the .htaccess in /httpdocs/catalog/admin/ I put the .htpasswd in /httpdocs/password/ (I created the folder /password/) Actually it works somehow since when I tried to go to the admin by doing www.mydomain.com/catalog/admin and I got the box where I have to input my login and password. The login was already put in, and when I tried to enter my password, I had the access refused... Why?? What did I do wrong? How can I know for sure my absolute path... Can anyone help me? I would really appreciate because I feel stuck in there since I don't want to build my website more before I can get that done... Thank you so much in advance... Mat
