I have read some say to put in public others say root?

Have downloaded to pc now where do I go to upoad?

/mywebsite.com or the /mywebsite/pub?

 

Scared stiff to make a mistake and lose the whole ball of wax :'(

You can put OSC whereever you want, as long as it's accessible from the web. You only need to worry about making sure includes/configure.php is set up properly for your install location.
