when you post a special, they show up like this:

original price w/ a strikeout - new price in red

 

how can i insert some text below the new price in red?

open the catalog\specials.php and find this line

 ? ? ?echo ' ? ? ? ? ? ?<td align="center" width="33%" class="smallText"><a href="' . tep_href_link(FILENAME_PRODUCT_INFO, 'products_id=' . $specials['products_id']) . '</a><br><a href="' . tep_href_link(FILENAME_PRODUCT_INFO, 'products_id=' . $specials['products_id']) . '">' . $specials['products_name'] . then you can add some text at the end of the table cell. For example replace the above with this:

How about if you add a short description for the product there instead?
