spencermjax Posted September 21, 2005 Posted September 21, 2005 This is my second shop AniMom Jewelry. What are your thoughts? If you want to see my first shop...by all means...nascarcustoms.com. This shop does not have any "real" products yet but i guess that doesn't matter.
K3D Posted September 22, 2005 Posted September 22, 2005 jewlry?? in the top banner The whats new box price is hard to read. Although the general design and graphics are quite pleasing to the eye (my eyes at least). Product descriptions, shipping and conditions pages need a lot of work, although I guess you know that already.
Joe7 Posted September 22, 2005 Posted September 22, 2005 You need to sort that spelling mistake out! On the left hand navigational menu, when you click 'Stones', although it brings up sub-menus below it, it takes you to a page which is blank. On the actual front page of your site (not the shop) I think you should have a bigger link saying something 'Proceed to the Online Store'. How about some work on the URLs for search engine optimisation.
Chance Posted September 22, 2005 Posted September 22, 2005 If you are going to use the CSS mouseover effects on your subcategories, you need to use category images with transparent backgrounds, it would look much nicer. Better yet, use a transparent background with a white drop shadow or backlight glow- they will pop out when the customer selects the category. Chance Posted September 22, 2005 Posted September 22, 2005 And on a side note, when I see "Animal Mother" I think of that dude with the big machine gun in the movie Full Metal Jacket. He was this big, crazy killer dude that just machinegunned the Viet-cong to ribbons. I only say that beacuse it sure didn't make me think of "jewelry". spencermjax Posted September 22, 2005 Author Posted September 22, 2005 K3D, Wow! I can't believe I overlooked that word in the banner. And yes, those other page fillers and descriptions are on the way. You mentioned the what's new box...do you mean the black text or the white text? I was thinking of chanding all if the text in the column_left to white. Joe7, I just removed the "new for 'current month'" module. My client did notwant that. I will soon have, similar to the main shop page the two sub categories(w/pics) and some text. Good idea on the "proceed to the online store". I just installed a meta tag contribution and I was going to start on the URLs tomorrow. Thanks for the reminder! Chance, If you are refering to the main shop page(body), That is a contribution I just installed. I like your idea...I will see if I can tweek that code. My problem now is I have installed so many contributions, even with backup files, it is hard to restore. I think that cont. was installed about 3 cont.'s ago. And the Animal Mother....Funny flash back!...but that is one of the key phrases the customer wants....The customer is always right. :-" Thanks for all of the input!
