Hey,

Im living in Ireland so the oscommerce customer details taken when someone registers is not really suited for my customers i.e. no state required and no sort code required. Can anyone tell me how to ammend what is asked for and which are compulsory to fill in?

Thanks for your help,

Ronan

all in the admin section of the store, configuration and you can custom program what you wish too if so desired

I know it has the 'customer details section' on the admin panel but that only allows you to set if it asks for certain things i.e. suburb, state. I need to change these things as i live in europe. I need 'town' instead of 'suburb' and 'county' instead of 'state', etc. where can i modify all these datails?

Thanks

Anyone??????? This is my second time asking, is this a complicated thing to do or something. I thought it would be relatively easy :(

It's so easy, it's barely worth stating.

Just look in your english.php file (catalog/includes/languages) for the defines for the constants ENTRY_SUBURB, ENTRY_STATE etc and change as required.

You would only need a tiny amount of php knowledge to be able to figure this out for yourself.

Edit: Oh yes, don't forget to change the text in the corresponding "error" constants as well.

The helpful and polite Open Source community speaks, as always...

What happens if you don't happen to know the ins and outs of the code intricately? Because, say, you were installing it for the first time? There are nearly 1000 files in the basic m2 tarball, how would you know where to start if you've not seen them before? and why would you think that you need to hack the code for a localisation issue as fundamental as state/county? This is very much worth stating, especially with a project as complex and documentation-poor as osC.

It's people like you who make many os projects unpleasant to be part of. Pull your head out of your ass and start engaging with the rest of the world.
