Guest Posted September 21, 2005 Posted September 21, 2005 :'( I have been working for over a month trying to get osCommerce 2.2MS2 to work with PayPal (installed the PayPal IPN 1.1). I went into the admin and installed the PayPal module. However, the directions say that I should have a checkbox to check. There are no checkboxes showing in my admin payment modules list. The shopping cart works, the problems start when the checkout button is pressed. I get a file not found error. You can check it out here: 8th Wonder Gems I don't see a PayPal button just the regular Checkout button, which I would like to replace with the PayPal button since this is the only payment method I want to accept. 1. Where do I but the PayPal button code? On what page and what is the directory for that file? 2. If I change out the button, will that fix my errors? Thank you for your help. I am so frustrated. I know there is something I am not doing. Linda
Guest Posted September 21, 2005 Posted September 21, 2005 has nothing to do with paypal, has to do with an ssl certificate not being installed on your site. open your configure.php and set ssl enable to false once you get and install your ssl cert then you can enable it again (a definite step i believe) however many with paypal dont use it

Also I suggest you to first test it thru sand box testing. Satish Ask/Skype for Free osCommerce value addon/SEO suggestion tips for your site. Check My About US For who am I and what My company does.

I have tried one at a time and both at a time and still get the same problem. PayPal 0 Enable PayPal Module: True E-Mail Address: (PayPal Email Address) Transaction Currency: Only USD Payment Zone: --none-- Set Order Status: Pending Sort Order of Display: 0 PayPal (Credit Card/Debit) 1 PayPal IPN Enable PayPal IPN Module: True Email Address: (PayPal Email Address) Transaction Currency: Only USD Payment Zone: --none-- Set Preparing Order Status: Preparing [PayPal IPN] Set PayPal Acknowledged Order Status: Pending Gatway Server: (was set to Live, I changed to Testing) Transaction Type: Per Item Page Style: PayPal Debug Email Address: (PayPal Email Address) Sort Order of Display: 1 Enable Encrypted Web Payments: False Your Private Key: (blank) Your Public Certificate: (blank) PayPal Public Certificate: (blank) Your PayPal Public Certificate ID: (blank) Working Directory: /tmp/ OpenSSL Location: /usr/bin/openssl The private key and the certificates I did not know what to put in there so I left those blank. :'( Could this be the problem? I appreciate your help. I have read the osCommerce manual, and just can't find the answer. I know there is something I am not doing. Linda
Guest Posted September 21, 2005 Posted September 21, 2005 let me restate this. seeing as how it has happened with two modules (it will continue to happen until you resolve this) has nothing to do with paypal, has to do with an ssl certificate not being installed on your site.open your configure.php and set ssl enable to false go to powweb and ask them for the proper way of setting up your shared ssl certificate, if you want to use it. else leave ssl to false.

YOU ARE MY HERO! I set the SSL to false and it all works now. The only thing is that now there is a warning at the top of the pages: Warning: I am able to write to the configuration file: /www/8/t/8thwondergems.com/htdocs/shop/catalog/includes/configure.php. This is a potential security risk - please set the right user permissions on this file. How can I get rid of this warning? What do the user permissions need to be set to? Linda

Linda <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Never mind. I got the permissions figured out. Thank you, thank you, thank you. You are the greatest! Finally, after over a month, this is working. I still have it on the testing server, will run a few more tests, then change it to live. What a load you have helped to take off my shoulders! (w00t) Linda
