I successfully added the BDP, (thanks for the contribution :rolleyes: )

Now I have another problem. I tried to add another box to the right hand column, following the instructions on the knowledge base. All I got was a string of error messages. Presuming that I'd somehow messed it up, I reversed the process and removed the changes that I'd made. Everything now appears normal until you click on certain buttons (ie add to cart, update cart) then I get this error message:

Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /data/members/paid/k/i/kidztoyz.org.uk/htdocs/www/includes/languages/english.php:2) in /data/members/paid/k/i/kidztoyz.org.uk/htdocs/www/includes/functions/general.php on line 33

I only have 2 contribs added (BDP & add info bar to footer) and as far as I'm aware I haven't had to change anything in general.php for either of them.

I've looked at the file and can't see whats wrong with it.

Any ideas?

That didn't work quite as well as I'd hoped.

My english php now appears above the shop logo (looking on the bright side though, it is colour coordinated)

If you click through to add a product to the basket it now has....

I used one of the file compare programs you recommended to me a couple of days ago to compare my english.php with the one on here osCommerce cross reference site ( for those that are as clueless as me with all this php it's at http://oscdox.com/crossx/nav.html?_functions/index.html ) and found

@setlocale(LC_TIME, 'en_US.[color="#FF0000"]ISO_8859-1'[/color]);

..the red bit was missing on line 19, as was <?php on line 1.

The site seems to be back to normal now. :thumbsup:

Me and my friend are fighting to get our osc webshop to work the way we want.

I've just installed the basic design pack contribution thing into our root, but

where shall i put it?

Is it right that I must copy the files into both directories:

/www.teknikikubik.se/ and

/www.teknikikubik.se/oscommerce_st/catalog/

this is our side looks like today: http://www.teknikikubik.se

as you see we havent figured out how to put our logotype up in the middle, someone please help us where to write in the stylesheet and what we shall write, where in the root should the pictures be?

and last I am wondering how to put a logotype in the background. I have read the earlier topics but I dont really understand how to do?

Someone please help me out here

Hi, The .css button part transforms all osc standard button calles into css defined buttons. Ie. the buttons looks are defined in stylesheet.css , you can have different borders, you can bevel the borders for a more button like look and/or you can add graphical background images to the buttons aswell and so on.

This css-button thing does not seem to work for me!

In the stylesheet use simple css defines for the css buttons, if you want effects use background images.

Do not use css button spesific effects in the stylesheet, they will not always work with the form buttons and will cause differnt looks in different browsers.

By any chance do you know why the text In the form-buttons (i.e Buy Now-button or Reveiw-button) does not place Itself dead-center of the button (like the text In the Login-button or Search-button does)?

The text In the form-buttons seem to hover towards the top of the button for some reason....

Just compare the files in the BDP with unmodifyed oscommerce files using a file compare program and you will imideately be able to spot the differences/mods.

Just compare the files in the BDP with unmodifyed oscommerce files using a file compare program and you will imideately be able to spot the differences/mods.

I decided to narrow it down a bit and chose one particular page that displays buttons with texts not aligned. It was the shopping_cart.php

Here the buttons "update cart" "continue shopping" and "checkout" is displayed. The update cart text is the one not aligned properly, it was a little lower. The code comparisons reveal no differences.... nothing I can tell although my html isn't good.

So I thought to check the browsers and sure enough IE shows them all aligned, but firefox doesnt.

On the main page, "Add to Cart" is the same on both browsers... all a little higher than should be.

So I am stumped. Can anyone help?

Its due to the differnece in rendering between link buttons and form buttons.

You can do further adjusting in eighter stylesheet.css

or in the css buttons part of includes/functions/html_output.php

the css buttons used is css buttons everywhere , it is in the contributions section as a separate contrib and also have its own support tread.

the basic design template did center everything...but what if i want to change the size? may i know how to do it?

beside from the main box, i also would like to change the size of the info box likes categories and etc.

i have 0 knowledge on PHP, and is learning now....it's hard for me to spot where to edit~

thanks

in stylesheets.css, look for .fixcenter, where you can change the width an height of the main area.

for catagories, look for .CategoriesBox (also in stylesheets.css) and change the size in there.

i don't think you really need to know PHP for these type of changes, just a reasonable knowledge of CSS and HTML is sufficient most of the time.
