It is usually caused by using to large pictures in the centre part of the page...it can also be caused by to wide product pictures showing in the whats new , new products box etc, it can also be caused by missing pictures which can cause elongation.

 

I found that it was actually the currency selection box that was holding it open. When I moved it to the right column it solved it...

I was putting the finishing touches on my site (shop.h3omusic.com), tried to change the background color of my cart contents and ... poooff ... everything went nutz?!?! Any ideas on what the heck could have happened?

I am trying to add a header with rollovers or mouseovers, and I am not sure how to do this. Or where exactly do I add it. Does anyone know if some of the preload code goes in the css file as well. I am a total newbie - have just installed a clean version of oscommerce - and tried to add this and am receiving the following errors:

I just downloaded package, and it's quite an useful one.

 

But it seems the files are not up to date in there, so I was wondering if you had kept track of the code changes.

 

I could figure out a lot of them with win-merge, but it's kind of hard to do it while a lot as changed in the core files.

 

And I am pretty sure an code change would require a lot less work updating, since many of them are very unlikely to be updated by the core.

 

Anyway thanks for this contrib.

All right, I sorted all out I think.

 

 

Here are the nine file requiring manual code change if you want to use up to date code, which I think is to consider here, since almost all code changes are security measures to me :

 

catalog/includes/boxes/best_sellers.php

catalog/includes/boxes/manufacturer_info.php

catalog/includes/boxes/manufacturers.php

catalog/includes/boxes/order_history.php

catalog/includes/boxes/product_notifications.php

catalog/includes/boxes/reviews.php

catalog/includes/boxes/specials.php

catalog/includes/boxes/languages.php

catalog/includes/classes/boxes.php

 

In those the update is very obvious, even more with the good old winmerge.

 

The only file I don't know enough about is :

 

catalog/includes/boxes/categories.php

 

The provided one seems ok, but it's quite hard to figure out what could have been the updates, if any, with that many code change, but it's working fine so far.

 

toyicebear, if you confirm this last file is ok, I guess an update would be cool.

If you want I can give you my files, but as said the changes are all obvious.

 

Anyway, the more I look into os commerce styling the more I love the smarty template and appreciate your great work here, because it could take some time without your work to find out where to change what.

i've just installed the basic design pack and would like to know how to make a few changes:

 

1) how do i remove the lines separating the different categories in the infobox? e.g. there is a line dividing "hardware" and "software."

 

2) how do i remove the number of items in each category in the infobox? e.g. there are 6 items in "hardware", and it shows "hardware" (6)

 

3) is there a way to remove the spacing between all the infoboxes? that means i want the infoboxes to stick up to one another.

CSS Buttons are working really nice in IE6, but not on Firefox...anyone fixed that? which contribution for the css button part does this on rely on? perhaps a newer on fixes this issue and we could include that patch...toyicebear: your work is really amazing..is there a problem if i include very many other contributions or does this still work?

 

and one last question: what about performing? can this be used on a heavily used site? as far i have seen there are no sql queries but everything is "ported" through the html-output-php....for example the buttons, they are not downloaded, but in a way the code must be scanned and that converted...is that time assuming?

Hi, I just installed this contribution over a clean install of OScommerce and then added the gray-skin. It all looks very good and seems to be working except for one issue:

 

Thumbnails are not being generated and there is a broken image link for my thumbnails. I went and checked via file manager if there was a folder called /imagecache created in my images folder and there wasn't. I didn't see any documentation on creating that folder and in a search of this very thread here, I turned up a note that says it should auto-generate the first time someone views a page with that thumbnail.

 

Any thoughts on how to fix this? The permissions for the images file are set to 777. My server has the GD enabled.

Well I don't know what the problem was but I installed another contribution in addition to this one that takes care of image resizing and things are working now, so I guess disregard the above post.

Hi, I did a clean install of 2.2 and just dropped the files over the catalog folder like you said, and then the whole store disappeared - it only shows the header with the log in / my cart / check out buttons and the logo, but the rest of the page is completely blank - and none of these buttons actually work. All the files in the /boxes/ folder has been changed......noone of the changes is security related......

 

The categories used in the pack are very different from the standard one..and yes its safe to use.

1. the lines is made by a image called, pixel_trans.gif , you can just change that image to the color you like. ie no line same color as the background of the box.

 

2. in your admin configuration/my store

 

Set show category conts to false

 

3. you will have to change the 2 instances of this code in every .php file in your catalog folder.

1. do the drop over install again..

 

2. try to rename and use one of the alternative includes/functions/html_output.php files.
