I have what should be a basic security question. (www.pcandstuff.net/catalog)

On the main catalog page I have the following highlighted error at the top of the page.

Warning: I am able to write to the configuration file: G:\Corporate Websites\PCandStuff\catalog/includes/configure.php. This is a potential security risk - please set the right user permissions on this file.

I have set the file permissioons, but message dosen't change????

Also, on the credit card entry page, Can I change this page to https: without purchasing a security certificate? If so, How?

Thanks,

Hoping to Go Live today ....

No you can't - you need either a full ssl certificate of your own or the use of a shared ssl certificate from your hosting company.

Also, don't be in a rush to 'Go Live today!'. Better to take the time to get it looking and working right than to have potential customers come to your site and find that it doesn't work properly.

Gretings,

I'm not sure how I got the "\" & "/" other than maybe this url is joined information from different ph files (ex root + path)??? Why am I still getting this error msg .... There are NO security permissions for this configure.php file with write permissions (including the one in the \includes\_vti_cnf directory. Guess I don't understand the error ....
