doktorwunder Posted September 21, 2005 Posted September 21, 2005 Hi everyone, I have a BIG problem. :'( Two days ago, I've tried to check if my catalog was working on another computer (it works well on mine) and... it didn't. Actually the main text was showing, as well as the text in the menu boxes... but I couldn't see a single image. No background, no logo, no pictures... In the first place I thought it might be caused by incorrect permissions on my FTP server... but I checked them and everything seems to be fine. I've tested it from an old PC (windows 98!) and probably an old version of IE... but it should work anyway, right? So, if somebody has any idea of why it happened... or if some of you could check my index page to see it shows correctly, that'd be great! :) The URL is : http://www.fatalclothing.com/catalog Please be indulgent as I haven't finished the design yet  Thanks so much Dr.Wunder Always need help :(
doktorwunder Posted September 21, 2005 Author Posted September 21, 2005 Oh... and... (if site's showing properly), could you tell how could I do to fix the error at the bottom of index page? The title for the upcoming products says : "TABLE_HEADING_UPCOMING_PRODUCTS TABLE_HEADING_DATE_EXPECTED" I think I removed a line in the code I should have kept when trying to remove the New Products module :-" Dr.Wunder Always need help :(
julianpuje Posted September 21, 2005 Posted September 21, 2005 I don't know about any other computers, but i can see your site but with not a lot on it, ie images etc and none of the links do anything. Check your catalog/includes/configure.php is set up for the correct paths to files/folders. eg: Your main logo image is looking for http:///images/logo_top.gif which is obviously wrong. Right click on your images or links and select properties, it will show you the path to the image or link. Post your configure.php file (without passwords!) if you can't sort it. HTH Julian A little knowledge is dangerous, I SHOULD KNOW. If Life Begins At 40, What ends????
burtoni Posted September 21, 2005 Posted September 21, 2005 If you right click on an image in your browser and select properties, you will see that the path is wrong (e.g. http:///images/logo_top.gif). This was configured wrong before you last uploaded, and from one bad setting you probably used copy/paste. You need to change all your images to something like '.../images/logo_top.gif' (not sure if two or three dots infront), then upload your site again. If that doesnt work, try: http://www.yourwebsitename.com/catalog/ before 'images' (or whatever your path to your images directory is)
doktorwunder Posted September 21, 2005 Author Posted September 21, 2005 First of all, thanks for taking the time to look at my site :) I will try to change the pathes and upload the site again. But I don't understand why the links don't work either. Maybe I didn't fill correctly the configure.php file... And... why does it work correctly on my comp? I mean, it does work both on my IE, Safari and Firefox Maybe that's because I use a Mac ... Dr.Wunder Always need help :(
doktorwunder Posted September 21, 2005 Author Posted September 21, 2005 i've just change a line in the code of the configure.php file... could you please tell me if it works now or not? thanks a lot! Dr.Wunder Always need help :(
♥Vger Posted September 21, 2005 Posted September 21, 2005 If that doesnt work, try: http://www.yourwebsitename.com/catalog/ before 'images' (or whatever your path to your images directory is) You obviously don't follow that dvice. I checked your site and all you need to do now (apparently) is to upload an unedited root level index.php file - because the tables are messed up in the one you have. Vger
julianpuje Posted September 21, 2005 Posted September 21, 2005 Looks like it's working now. As for your other question re TABLE_HEADING_DATE_EXPECTED etc You need to add those lines to your catalog/includes/language/english.php to define what the text should be. You should be able to get how to do it by looking at other table headings in there. Julian A little knowledge is dangerous, I SHOULD KNOW. If Life Begins At 40, What ends????

doktorwunder Posted September 21, 2005 Author Posted September 21, 2005 Oh yah... I've just checked with IE and the main text "getting started", ... are separated in like 2 table columns... Don't know why they show up... Seems to show correctly on Safari and Firefox Dr.Wunder Always need help :(
