fudgeheaven Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 I need someone to hold my hand and talk me through this V E R Y S L O W L Y please. My website already exists (www.fudgeheaven.co.uk) which I created myself. I though this looked fun but I can't even get past extracting the zipfiles. Is there anyone around willing to talk me through this please. I am not stupid, I just know what I know, and unfortunately, I seem to be venturing into the unknown here. GAZ
Nick Weisser Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 I though this looked fun but I can't even get past extracting the zipfiles. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You could start with All About ZIP Files and the continue with Articles in 'Installation and Upgrades'. Hope this helps Nick
♥Vger Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 I would advise that you try this out on your home computer first. You will have to set it up as a local server, but thankfully this is not that difficult. I'd recommend you download and install an all-in-one package like XAMPP (http://www.apachefriends.org/en). This contains an Apache web server, phpMyAdmin, PHP 4 & 5, MySQL, Mercury Mail Server, FileZilla, Open SSL etc. Once you've done that read the 'Quick Install Guide' link below my name, and it will tell you what you need to know to install osCommerce, whether online (Internet) or offline (Intranet).
