ecgbyme Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 I can't seem to find how to add reviews to products. There is no link from the products in the catalog and the review page has no button to add a review. Unable to locate how to add a review. Appreciate any suggestions!
Guest Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 there are reviews with the default osc. You must changed something, otherwise each product has a reviews button.

Each product should have it's own review button. I've notice there was no way of implementing a review since the beginning. Anyway to fix this?!
Guest Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 Anyway to fix this?! do you have a url for your shop? So far there is not enough info from what you described to understand why the reviews wont work.

So far there is not enough info from what you described to understand why the reviews wont work. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The URL is: www.ecgnaturals.com/store I've looked at the files in define languages and there are 4 php files about reviews: product_reviews_info.php, product_reviews_write.php, product_reviews.php and reviews.php. Appreciate your help!!

We have quite a number of reviews from our original site. We call them testimonials. I wanted to copy them over into reviews. Any suggestions?
Guest Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 No testimonials are different. There is a contribution for testimonials for osc if you wanted to add it (search the contributions). Testimonials you edit them on the admin side.

New installation: 1. Run the sql file to create the new database table. *** For an unknown reason, the 'status' column is being inserted in caps as 'STATUS'. *** Rename "STATUS' to 'status' in your sql database. 2. Upload all of the necessary PHP files into their respective folders on your webserver. 3. Add the contents of the .txt files to the existing PHP files on your webserver. 4. Admin > Tools > Testimonials Mgr 5. Thats it. It's fairly straightforward. Need help? Post in the thread. Don't have any idea about number 1. Might be able to complete #2 Maybe #3 Is #4 where the editing would be? Appreciate your help.
Guest Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 1. Run the sql file to create the new database table. It means you download phpmyadmin (which is free) and you upload the sql file to the database. and yes 4 is where the editing is going to be. And before doing any integration of contributions backup: 1. All your shop files 2. The database with either the backup manager of the osc or with phpmyadmin. Make sure you understand phpmyadmin a bit before adding contributions. Lots of them require mods to the dbase.

Guest Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 no you dont create a new database. You import an sql table (or drop a table) to the dbase. Dont mess around without backup it could ruin your shop. Its the sql tab->browse->go
