hexagon Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 Hi to all!, this is my first post and it is the first time I use oscommerce which seems to be perfect for my needs.... However, these are my first two questions...... 1- Is there any way to secure my admin folder (via username/pass)? 2- Is there any mod to have user friendly/spider friendly url ....for instance use .htaccess to have .html urls rather than php? Thx in advance...any reccommendations will be appreciated!!
Guest Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 1 If your hosting company provides you with a control panel you should be able to protect the admin directory through that. 2 Yes there is and it is here: http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contri...engine+friendly
hexagon Posted September 20, 2005 Author Posted September 20, 2005 thx for ur answers.... I found the mod for the friendly urls.... I ll create myself the protection for the admin by using sessions and a username/password fomr at the beginning..... I found the CREloaded os commerce system. however,i cant download it and test it myself...this version seems better and incorporates more features, such as protected admin system and more.....but it doesnt seem to be freeware...is this true? Thx again!

Thx again! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Its completely free. You only pay for whitebox version which basically allows you to redistribute it yourself. They ask for donations, but its not mandatory. One caution, though. CRELoaded may come with some nice additions, but if you want to add additional contributions, it is a major pain.
