jimkelly23 Posted September 19, 2005 Posted September 19, 2005 I am not sure if cookies need to be set in sessions. Can anyone explain why you would need that turned on?
jimkelly23 Posted September 20, 2005 Author Posted September 20, 2005 Under the category sessions when setting up your store - your prompted for cookies true or false
FalseDawn Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 Nope, still not clear. Are you referring to the "Force Cookie Use" Option?

♥akmac Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 I set it to false, because I find that my users will not change their browser settings to buy from me-they'll go somewhere else. Some folks disagree. Quidquid latine dictum sit, profundum viditur.
FalseDawn Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 lol, talk about hard work getting the information. Personally, I always set it to true - I've yet to see any evidence of customers leaving a store because cookies are required. Much more likely customers leave because there's no SSL, you are forcing them to create an account, your store has errors, or is just unprofessional. 99.9% of shoppers have no idea what cookies are, let alone how to change settings from default (which incidentally, works fine when force cookie use is set true) When set to true, there is no danger of sesion IDs being passed in the URLs, and the link from store to customer is strengthened. As always, your choice.
