Crdit card payment... then what ?

Hi Guys,

 

dealing with my first oscommerce prohject. Just a question : I have the credit card payment module installed. I wonder, what happens if the customer fills in the credit card number and hits 'Checkout'. Does the number get stored somewhere on the db ? Where do I fill in the bankaccount number where the money should be put ? In general, what happens technically once someone buys with a credit card ?

 

PS : I am in Belgium, so if there are some belgian shopowners ...

The Credit Card module only captures credit card data and sends it to you (as the store owner) so that you can then use it with your Merchant Account to complete the transaction via your terminal link to your bank credit card processing facility.

 

So, you either need a Merchant Account and a terminal from your bank - or you need to use a third party payment processor (like PayPal) and use their module.
