I Am looking for a model or something that will allow my customers to type in a code at checkout that will knock 10% off the total.

Use the Vouchers/Coupons area to do it. Set it for whatever you wish. Works really well.

The coupons / voucher module has a serious flaw. Although it will allow you to knock 10% of the price, it will cause either:

 

1.The total to be right and the VAT (tax) amount wrong

2. The VAT to be right and but the total to be wrong.

 

 

This depending on the settings you chooses in the Order Total module.

 

I have tried to see if anyone can solve this issue..... see my post http://www.oscommerce.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=167906 , but no luck yet!

 

I can't understand why this has not been looked into as giving discounts must be a very common requirement of most commerce sites.

 

I am currently seeing if I can have a programmer fix this problem.
