Guest Posted September 19, 2005 Posted September 19, 2005 HI* Please... We need mini .jpg banners as Categories A1. Our Categories need to be listed as small but Readable color .jpg mini banners Users select their 1st language + 'home' site based on 'their' mini banner with their national URL for our service A2. Inserting the banners in product picture (at Categories/Products) give a SQUISHED [almost square] ugly box of our rectangular mini banner (ok for a pc or mouse, but not for us) We need to s~t~r~e~t~c~h the box in the category page A3. How do we do that please? B1. On the home page, we want to see our banner, not text, in the Category box. Yes it is up to us to make it small. B2. How do we do that please? (We did all this in BV Commerce, before.) Many thanks! Charles
Wendy James Posted September 19, 2005 Posted September 19, 2005 1. In your admin, under configuration then images only set the width or the height for category images, that will stop the squishing. Also works for product images if they are all different dimentions. 2. When entering a category, instead of typing in the name of the category type in the code for an image. Like <img src="../images/category1pic.jpg" border="0" alt="category1name"> Wendy James Creativity is allowing yourself to make mistakes. Art is knowing which ones to keep.
Guest Posted September 22, 2005 Posted September 22, 2005 Hello :'( Thank you very kindly. Please... Can you please explain in lay person's terminology how I should do that please in #2? Do I need to place the image in the online folder first and then somehow identify the link address and paste it in the precise model you gave below <img src="../images/category1pic.jpg" border="0" alt="category1name"> or ... is there a "Smart Way To Do This," please.... My apologies for the apparently painfully stupid question::: Best Regards, Charles p.s.....Your #1 worked like a charm. Thanks so much for the great tip! 1. teknonweb Posted October 9, 2005 Posted October 9, 2005 In answer to your #2 question. Yes place the image in the image folder then in the admin area where you put the name of the category, write in the code <img src="../images/category1pic.jpg" border="0" alt="category1name">
