Did Authorize.net Change Anything?

Recommended Posts

All of a sudden today authorize.net is not working correctly on my site.

No changes have been made to the site in weeks. I have a feeling this is something on the authorize.net end of things.

When someone finalizes an order, instead of them remaining on my site as they always have, they are getting forwarded to https://secure.authorize.net/gateway/transact.dll

The page that shows up looks just like my sites design, however all the image links are broken and no CSS works of course.

The orders do actually get processed, but I cant understand why all of a sudden it is doing this instead of remaining on my site as always.

I received several orders yesterday with no problems at all, yet as of this morning people are emailing me telling me about the errors when paying with credit cards, so I had to shut it down for now.

Has this happened to anyone else? I think Authorize.Net sent out a letter a week or two ago saying they will be updating some things, I am wondering if this is a side effect.

What version are you using Authorize.net on your osCommerce ? I have problems with authorize.net with the error 401 - Authorization Required. Did you get the same error as well ?

I have authorizenet.php v. 1.48

I beleive it is the stock authroize.net module that comes with the stock version of oscommerce 2.2.

I see there are 2-3 newer authorize.net contribs but I would have like to avoid using them as my shop is heavily modified, especially the checkout pages, but I guess I may have to try one of them instead and just go over all the changes line by line.

I saw a couple of new contributions and I'm not sure if they are excellent additions ... to see if they are really tested to be safe. I have been working on the website all year and it is ready to go but authorize.net error came up. I don't know how much more time to put a new contribution of authorize.net to modify more php files. That's very strange that your website worked so well for few weeks and then all of the sudden it is not! Yikes! What kind of error did you see when that happened ?

Its not actually producing an error message, but for some reason its making customers leave the site at checkout. When they submit the order, it takes them to secure.authorize.net and, and the resulting page looks exactly like checkout_success.php of oscommerce, but all the image links are broken and now CSS styles show up, so it looks really bad.

I dont understand why all of a sudden it would be forwarding the customers to another page instead of just sending their info and verifying it like it is supposed to do. Its also wierd how the page returned looks just like my store. I am guessing somehow the page HTML is being sent to authorize.net along with the CC info or something, I cant see how else the page would look like mine.

I see. When I get the error, the url address showed me https://secure.authorize.net/gateway/transact.dll. I know that is coming from authorizenet.php but I want to know what provoked it. I clicked on the Confirm Order button and expected it to go thru. I got the receipt and the order number and the owner of the catalog (website) have it!! It works but I don't like the error page after clicked the Confirm Order button. It would scare customers off. Your problem might be somewhere in authorizenet.php or checkout_success.php. It's hard to figure out, yeah.

Does anyone know if there is a checklist or anything like that to set up Authorize.net? I have switched over to Authorize.net and my orders seem to be getting stuck about halfway through the process.

Thanks so much!

Lori

Authorizenet is moving away from the SIM and weblink ways of connecting to it's gateway. Using the Authorizenet Consolidated Contribution should solve your problem....

I'm going to ask in several topics...I got my store up and working, sorta, but one question remains. I need to figure out the page that will appear AFTER the customer has been beamed to the authorize.net site and back to the catalog, so I can put that in the profile section on the 'control panel' at authorize.net. I'm a rather newbie setting up a store - but not on computers or web design. I'm guessing - and assuming - "checkout_proccess.php", but if I've learned anything in my 15 years with computers, I've learned the meaning of ASSUME (broken down) hehe. If anyone knows what that referral URL is, please let me know.

Thanks, and I'll keep answering as many "baby questions" as *I* can, for that's the way to learn, I've learned THAT, too, that the more questions I answer, the more I learn!

Keep up the good work!

That reminds me of my last question (I just posted a moment ago)....do I have to use another contribution or update the module that came with oscommerce 2.2, milestone 2?

I experienced this same thing yesterday afternoon. For no apparant reason I am receiving the red banner errors messages from authorize.net saying 'credit card cannot be processed'.

osCommerce 2.2

modules/payment/authorize.net version 1.48

linux, curl installed and working

no changes to code in months

no changes to php versions in months

Did upgrading to AuthorizeNet Consolidated 1.8 solve your problem?

Posted (edited)

This topic saved my life and my receeding hair line. *Thank you*

Things I found that others might find useful :

I used Authorize.Net Consolidated 1.7b. It overwrote my order confirmation emails so be a little careful.

I was experiencing the same symptoms - user hits confirm and they get redirected to the credit card entry page. I kept being directed to the authorize.net dll but the page looked the same. This is extremely upsetting for a live site...

I installed the contribution blindly with limited luck. I didn't have to tweak anything (step 2 of the install.txt was ignored). I then went in and disabled the authorize.net payment module, and re-enabled it. Obviously, I should have disable the module first, and then installed the contribution (but I'm pretty newbie). Luckily, the module was able to recover itself.

The module then set itself to the same display order as my paypal module. So at checkout, it just sort of displayed nothing. Correcting the display order so that Authorize.net module was a unique number (again, this should have been obvious to me), everything works like a charm. I am so very happy. Thanks all!
