Shoppers with AOL forced to register

Hi. I am hoping someone can help me with this. I use StatCounter and noticed that people with America Online keep getting taken to the log-in page when trying to browse the catalog. For instance, if they click on a product category, they get taken to the log-in page instead.

I emailed a couple of people who had registered, but didn't make purchases and they both said that they could not browse the catalog without registering. Both of them have AOL.

I am wondering if this is happening to AOL users because they don't have static IP's. I have only seen it happen to people with AOL.

Does anyone know what is going on and/or how I fix it?

Thank you,

Sherry

You have the answer figured out. :)

AOL members often (always?) have rotating IP Addresses, so you need to turn off the IP Address check.

Make sure Check IP Address is set to false in Admin > Configuration > Sessions
