Hello All

 

I last asked for feed back around 4-5mts ago but have redesigned the store due to two reason 1, my first go as some here would remember was load and rubbish 2, i took most of the comments to heart and made it a bit boring.

 

As i sell baby clothing i really needed it to be colourful and fun, so i took all the first design fun bit and the second boring bit and mixed them up and came up with this.

 

I still have a few more pages to add so some of the links will not work, but i would love to know what people feel about the general feel of the site and if you would trust buying from me?

looks nice, but you have used buttons as your box headings, and you cannot click on them trey annoying, nice site though i liked it, clean

As Daniel said the box headings do look like buttons which is slightly confusing at first but I guess it only take half a second to get over that so is not really a big problem..

The site looks good. Bright colors suit your product line.

 

You still have quite a few typos, which probably aren't a big deal, but I think they make a site look less professional.

 

If you are going to say "Lowest prices on the net", you'd better make sure that statement is true.

 

Everything in your "Under ?5.00" is out of stock so it shows as ?0.00 with a "Buy Now" button next to it. Not sure this is how you want to show these items.

 

When I click on "Under ?10.00" it shows "TEXT_NO_PRODUCTS". You need to do something about that wording. Also, having everything out of stock in those price ranges leaves me feeling like you don't sell anything for under ?10.00. If this is the case, get rid of the first two price categories.

 

Your "Under ?15.00" and "Under ?20.00" are all priced the same, so that doesn't seem to make sense.

 

All your "girls shoes" are priced at ?0.00, including "I love Mum & Dad" shoes which you show elsewhere for ?13.99.

 

There is more, but I think you get the idea. Go through your shop, page by page, and look for discrepancies. It takes a lot of work, but is necessary to fine tune your shop.

 

I hope you know I bring these up not to criticize, but to help you, as you have asked for help.

Thanks joes, i knew about the things you said, i was just being lazy about adding the content and prices to the products, but i have done that now.

 

I will be adding loads more products over the coming days and weeks and new to add a merchant banks gateway in the near future.

 

I thing i nearly done other than added more advice pages, but that will be an on going thing.

 

Apart from the typos that my partner will be sorting out for me ( my english was never that bright ) can anyone see anything else that would put people off using my site ?, if not i will stop fluffing around with the design of it and put some more time into link exchanging and seo.

 

falsedawn pointed out that my advice page was a good idea but a bit boring so i hope that looks a little better.

I was kicked out of DMOZ, i think because my site crashed and it took a while before i started adding the products back, i told them that i had a problem and they said will not comment.

I can see that you've put a lot of work into the site and my first impression was very good. Good layout...looks just like it should for what you are selling.

 

Don't underestimate the typos and be sure to get everything right before going live. One thing that you must do (and many overlook this) is use British English, as you are a co.uk site and you're priced in Sterling. By this I mean use "ising" and not izing.... Also be sure to use the same language throughout.

 

Apart from this, I have no problems with the site and with the right amount of pushing, I could see it being a great success.

Im in the middle of adding a ccgv contibution and will be adding a xmas prize raffle page.

 

What else could i do to make someone click on the checkout icon, i know i still have some typos and i will be fixing them this weekend.

I like your site, its simple and it does the job very well.

 

What i wanted to know is doesnt the google adsense adverts take away your business because they are advertisting the same products which you sell. This might be something to consider.

I have thought about adsense for a long time and i came up with is that i think i offer the best prices on the net so a little competition will only show my customers that i do offer the best prices and hopefully my site looks better than 95% of the others that have to ppc.

 

i get around 3000 hits per month and about 15-20 buyers from them hits per month over the past 8 months, when i added the adsense about a month ago i have seen no drop in sales but an increase in hits by google search engine and also some extra income from the hits.

 

i know a lot here says why would you offer this, but the way i look at it is that if a person clicks on a ad then its most likely i didnt sell the item they wanted and i made a little extrea income from them anyway.

 

what does others thing ?

The google ads on your secure pages are causing a security alert box to pop up - the secure/unsecure items one.

 

You need to fix this straight away, as it will undoubtedly frighten away some of your less confident / knowledgeable customers.

I find some things really amazing and this is one, all the ones that liked my site and at a guess voted so left feedback. but i have had four no votes, and thats fine as i really do not mind honest votes, but what does amaze me is not one of the no voters left feedback so i do not have a clue what would put them off.

 

The reason we ask for this info is not for fun but to find out how we can make you and others stay and buy from us, and leaving a no vote with no feedback just puts us in the dark.

 

Im not being rude just looking for that little extra help that counts.

Over the past week i have added a competition page and a discussion forum as well as loads more tips and advice pages.

 

The only thing that is starting to bother me is that i am starting to over load the site and it will not look professional and put people off, the reason i added all of this is because in the long run i beleive i will get more visitors, but i really do not what to scare of the majority because it looks rubbish.

 

Any advice would be great

Your store looks really nice, quite impressive actually.

 

If you log into your adsense account, click on Adsense for Content and click on "Competitive Ad Filter". You will be able to block out competing adverts, and the ads will be drawn from other content and keywords on your site.

 

My opinion is the "Who`s Online" box should go, as at your less busy times customers seeing so few people online will deter them from purchasing.

 

I also recommend using the Adwords Firefox referral button as an extra small sidebar, it is a good browser, customers will respect you for referring them to this and you will be paid $1 for every download.

I just wanted to let you know that the snowflace contribution causes my system to use 99% cpu. I am running gentoo linux and mozill firefox 1.5. I would try to install the newest firefox 1.5 and try make sure that the snow is not incompatible with the newest version. Just thought I would let you know, it's more probable that its just my system.

There are going to be 12 people who think thats clever- The other 99.99999% of the population are going to get irritated at multi-colored snowflakes floating over the product info text they are trying to read that they can't get rid of.

thank you for pointing out the fault in the forum, i really do not know how to fix this but i will have a try. i also see that in netscape i have just a blank screen in purple? if anyone can advice me why i would be so grateful.

Hope all is well.

 

I started to add loads off products and a few other contributions to the site, google still does not like me but yahoo has me in the top 2 within the UK so I'm getting many hits and sales from there.

 

I have removed the forum for the time being as i was getting no response from it.

 

What I'm a little worried about is the speed of the site now i have added all the products, i have a fast 2.3 Mbps broadband so it seems quick to me .

 

Also does it look messy and what would you do to improved it.

 

Any advice would be great..

Very nice. A couple of changes that come to mind right off - I really don't like the Courier new text on some of the buttons. It's a very computery, mechanical feeling font that doesn't work for a baby site. Second, I'd make it so that the sizing information is more easily found. Also add more detail - I get the centimeters measurements, but what's 0-2 on the shoes measurements? Sizing info is one of the most important things for any clothes store online, and yours doesn't give a lot of detail.

 

It loaded plenty fast for me, by the way, so I don't think you need to worry about that.
