Admin Login

Hi,

 

Please correct me if i'm wrong. While setting up the cart i found that the catalog login is unsecure i.e. it is accessible by all by just typing the URL like http://www.xyz.com/catalog/admin there is no option to check unauthorized access to the admin section.

 

This is a basic feature which i found missing. Please correct me if the admin login section exists in Os commerce.

 

Any help will be appreciated.

you should have at least an .htpasswd file on the admin dir. You create that from your host's cpanel. you should also setup your SSL info your host provided you in the configure.php files at least for your admin side. As you want to be in secure mode when you configure your catalog.

Thank you for the reply enigma1 but i'm not able to locate the suggested htpasswd file on the admin dir. Can you help me in locating/creating that file.
