USPS Shipping module

An error occured with the UPS shipping calculations.

The requested service is invalid from the selected origin.

If you prefer to use UPS as your shipping method, please contact the store owner.

This is the error message that shows when trying to buy an item with usps. NOT A PARSE ERROR

It doesn't work in test mode or production mode.

Read that this means I have my setup wrong somewhere possibly no zipcode???

Here is what I have in the usps fields

Enable USPS Shipping

True

Enter the USPS User ID

**********

Enter the USPS Password

**********

Which server to use

test

Handling Fee

0

Tax Class

--none--

Shipping Zone

--none--

Sort Order

0

I put * in place of my userid and password

There is a place to put in address zipcode and phone number (not in the shipping module section) but it is just a big blank box. I have put in the information but maybe I don't have a comma where needed or have one where it shouldn't be. What zipcode and other info do I need that I might not have that is required elsewhere to get the usps module to work.

I am having this problem too !!

Did you ever find a solution ?

Thanks

Donna

(PS a search turned up something about the UserID might be different from USPS screen ID .. or something. And that its different again in production mode).

  • 3 weeks later...

I got the same error also. The USPS sent me a "Web Tools User ID" is this the ID I'm suppose to use or is there a separate one? The email also states the following:

"IMPORTANT NOTE: The current documentation refers to a password. Please ignore all references to password in the documentation. Password is no longer used or required."

Should there be no password? I'm confused. If someone is able to shed some light on this, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Barb
