Edit Index.php

I need help editing the deafult index.php file, every change I make kicks back an error from the line I edited. I just want to remove all the 4 bullet points (error, editing, securing and online). I want to go from Welcome to My Store to the New products table. Here is the code. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
