Guest
something is not working right. I have a product which is about 6lbs and i have the UPS shipping module installed. The cheapest, ground shipping, is $22 to the same city. I don't think it takes $22 to ship a 6lbs object in the same city. How do I fix this? Guest
could be a few reasons, one being the tare weight in the admin/configuration/shipping. other would be a misconfiguration of the originating zip code.

What should it be set to?
♥Vger
Check to make sure that you are not including Packaging in that cost. There is a setting for Tare Weight (weight of packaging material) which by default is 3lbs. You'll find it under Configuration --> Shipping/Packaging in osCommerce 'admin'. Vger <{POST_SNAPBACK}> but i do include packaging anyway which is probably about 3lbs. The product is 3lbs. So that's 6. But $22 for 6lbs in same city? By the way i used the default UPS. Is there something i am doing wrong?

♥Vger
There are various options for types of pick-up in the UPS module - are you choosing the cheapest one? By the way - don't ask me which is the cheapest one - I live in the UK. Vger
mushindo
If you are using the default UPS module, that one doesn't give live shipping rates but rather calcuates costs based upon an average price in addition with the items above that VGER mentions. I would suggest you do install on the UPS XML shipping rates system. It is incredible, has nice options, but does require you to signup for a free UPS account. One of them commonly used is here: http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contri...,all/search,ups Sincerely, Bruce 19 contributions submitted
