spunner
Same problem here. Win2K3, IIS, mySQL. Test connect ot databse fine, installs everything without error. I see the tables it created in mySQLadmin. When I go to /admin it has error "Unable to connect ot database server" If I go to /catalog it sends me to the /install again. Have removed and reinstalled 3 times, same result. Any help appreciated.
bsaren
Man! This is frustrating. Having the same problem as the rest of you. Win2k server, latest IIS, PHP, MySQL etc etc. Just cant get past this screen. VERY frustrating. Love open source. But times like these I wish I had a budget for more. Guest
you can do a manual configuration of the configure.php files, manually import the database, change the one file necessary too . . .
bsaren
we installed PHP 4 for our site, and left PHP 5 running for others. We got past that screen, now onto other problems, but we're working it out. Onwards and upwards. fugly

adatole
Modify the .htaccess file that is in the /catalog directory. I added the "long registers" line as follows: #<IfModule mod_php4.c> # php_value session.use_trans_sid 0 php_value register_globals 1 php_value register_long_arrays On #</IfModule>
