musicalc
When I click Admin/configure I get summaries of the choices I made when I first set up my store...but I cannot find any way to add catagories. The edit buttons only let me turn on or off my original choices. Now I want to add, for instance, some other 'customer details' catagories but I can't get to the original menu as shown on the screen shots in the knowledge base. I also had my host provider try to help and they couldn't figure out how to help either................. All help is appreciated! ♥Vger
The screenshots shown in the Knowledge Base are for the MS3 version of osCommerce which has not yet been released. MS3 is not yet stable (not all files are complete and there are still issues to be worked out). You should have MS2 installed. You can check on this by going to your admin section, clicking on Tools and then Server Info and it will tell you which version of osCommerce you have installed. By the way the web address you posted does not exist. Vger
musicalc
What a week! I've spent days trying to figure this issue out. Then my website was attacked yesterday and Start Logic has assigned me a new server which will be active today. (Altho I just checked it this 7:40am and so far it's not up. Later today I gather.) I did check the version I installed however and it is V2.2.2....... Altho the original menus I had in set up looked just like the ones on the screen shots I thought. I was happy with everything up until I couldn't find a way to get back to the original menus to change various options. I confess I didn't know what some of them were for when I set up. Left most of them on the defaults but perhaps I hit something I shouldn't. BTW gorgeous pussy cat. We had the flip side a huge fluffy white dog! Thanks for your help Suzie H musicalcompositions.net
♥Vger
BTW gorgeous pussy cat. We had the flip side a huge fluffy white dog! While that's not an image of our own cat, it looks exactly like him. However, it's not possible to get across in a small image what a cat who weighs 7 kilos looks like (apart from being larger than a small to medium sized dog). Sorry your site was attacked, but provided the server was secure it should not have been damaged in any way. You do need to find out what version of php your hosting company is running. If it's anything less than 4.3.10 (patched) then it will be vulnerable again. Vger
musicalc
That is one HUGE 'puddy tat'! Wow! What fun to have him on your feet on a cool winter's eve. Of course he might also cut off your circulation and leave you without feet! We had a couple kitties pass through our household here the last few years. Unfortunately we live on an acre and the coyotes kept making them dinner....so now we refuse any well meaning friends trying to give us strays or kittens. Our location is too uncivilized. But I would love another. They have such interesting personalities. Thanks for the heads up on the php issue. Just checked the data and it says phpNuke which is 7.1.5. (I'm assuming that's what you were refering to?) Any ideas of what I can do about this other issue or do we need to wait until I can access the site? ♥Vger
No, phpNuke is nothing to do with osCommerce. That's another programme entirely. Along with all other content management systems, phpNuke, Post Nuke etc and Forum software such as phpBB they are always getting hacked. They all use a mass mailer script and this is a juicy target for hackers - because if they can get into it they can use it to send out tens of thousands of spam/virus e-mails from your site. I would not keep a programme like phpNuke on the same domain as an osCommerce website. If a hacker can get into the phpNuke installation then he can use that as a backdoor into osCommerce. You're right about the cat and circulation! Vger
