dave111
Is it against the forum rules to suggest scripts than oscommerce? Such as a user posts: "Should i use oscommerce to setup a website for my gaming clan, so that i can let members sign up and pay for an upcoming lan party?" Is it against the rules to suggest a better suited script for this purpose?
AlanR
I would say yes. You can always PM the user your advice. The forum exists to support osC and that's why most people are here. It's busy enough as it is. Guest
From the Forum Rules link available at the top of any page in the forum: General Information Exchange This forum is for information exchange regarding osCommerce only. Postings regarding other projects may be treated as off-topic and may be deleted without prior notification. ================ Contacting someone through PM or e-mail who is specifically asking for information related to commercial services is allowed and is not considered as spamming. ================ my interpretation of the above, is another product is not to be discussed. most people are savvy enough to know they can use a search engine, also they can use the http://www.oscommerce.com site and see what the product does. When in doubt, refer to the forum rules above~!
