Status update contrib?

Are there any existing contributions that allow me to update the status of individual orders by supplying the order number and new status?

 

I would like to do this by running a CGI script. I'm not a php programmer or I'd have a go myself.

 

I could look at how this is done from any other contrib that may already do this task. Any ideas?
