Adding table to specific categories page

Hello,

I've been trying to figure out the easiest way to add a table of images(HTML) to a specific categories page. I noticed that a category link is a path (cPath), so I am not sure where to mess with the code. I was thinking the right way to go would be to change TABLE_CATEGORIES document/code. Since this is all done in the admin panel, can it acutally be done at all?

What I want is to show a series of larger advertisement images at first, then you'd see the subcategories with its smaller images, and then the "what's new" table.

Any help and/or suggestions are much appreciated.
