fall31 Posted September 6, 2005 Posted September 6, 2005 it seems that your hostserver does not your account. How did you get this error? During OSC setup?

During OSC setup? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yes. during installation. In Step 2. The hosting server is new to php and MySQL, first install on his server. PHP 4.4, MySQL 4.1 Windows Server So, he needs to set up a username and password for me ?? Sorry to be a dimwit.
Guest Posted September 6, 2005 Posted September 6, 2005 i think your host has not set things up properly, and if he is just setting up php and mysql, i do suggest to not stay there as you will continue to have many problems.

When you put in your database account and your password and database name and choose "continue", OSC will first check whether you can connect to the server. If the connection is established then the OSC will use this connection to create tables. If you failed on the connection checking it means that your account or password has problem. Actually i have never seen anybody use 'localhost' as a account name. Contact your server guy.
