I have over 7,000 products and search seems to slip in finding results on artists beginning with the letter V - Z. Any way I can increase my search file that holds this info? A setting somewhere? thanks, brett

Guest Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 does your search box look for manufacturer too? It all depends on the setup in advanced_search_results.php ... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> correct - if you look at http://arthousereproductions.com/advanced_search.php - it shows All categories and All artists. I think there is a size limit to the oscommerce search index - as mentioned, it's strange this would begin not showing results starting around V-Z artists (or those artists at the end of the search index). Does anyone know the specifications with the search index? how to increase it? thanks, brett

I'd turn on sql logging, rin the query in phpmyadmin and see what it does there, that may clear things up. on the other hand, it's easy to go to the operations tab in phpmyadmin for table manufacturers and click on the optimize" link, and see if it helped. :-) Monika addicted to writing code ... can't get enough of databases either, LOL! my toolbox: Textpad - Compare and Merge - phpMyAdmin - WS_FTP - Photoshop - How to search the forum Interactive Media Award July 2007 ~ category E-Commerce my advice on the forum is for free, PMs where you send me work are considered consultation which I charge for ...

I'm not entirely sure how to do the things mentioned above, but will give it a shot.
