search missing results

returns no results.

 

 

I have over 7,000 products and search seems to slip in finding results on artists beginning with the letter V - Z.

 

Any way I can increase my search file that holds this info? A setting somewhere?

does your search box look for manufacturer too?

 

It all depends on the setup in advanced_search_results.php ...

correct - if you look at http://arthousereproductions.com/advanced_search.php - it shows All categories and All artists. I think there is a size limit to the oscommerce search index - as mentioned, it's strange this would begin not showing results starting around V-Z artists (or those artists at the end of the search index).

 

Does anyone know the specifications with the search index? how to increase it?

I cannot imagine it has to do with that ... I'd turn on sql logging, rin the query in phpmyadmin and see what it does there, that may clear things up.

 

on the other hand, it's easy to go to the operations tab in phpmyadmin for table manufacturers and click on the optimize" link, and see if it helped.

hmmm...turn on sql logging? ok. I'm not entirely sure how to do the things mentioned above, but will give it a shot.
