missing image files in order history

I have a white box with an x in my order history page and no image - why does this happen??

right click and go to properties on the missing image, let us know what it is.

ok, then look in the images dir to see if it is there (or whatever path the properties says). if not, upload it.

the file was not there, catalog/images the file resides in catalog/images/icons

 

my senses are telling me to just move the cart file to the images folder but my instinct is telling me to find files making references and change them. what is the cleanest way?

You shouldnt need to move the image or change the references. Something else is going on. Did you check your configure file if the icons path is setup?

should be like this

define('DIR_WS_ICONS', DIR_WS_IMAGES . 'icons/');

problem solved-indeed it was a misleading path in the configure file.
