srober Posted September 3, 2005 Share Posted September 3, 2005 Im not looking for somebody to do the work for me but maybe a push in the right direction would help. My goal for this site is to leave it somewhat default, get it up and running by the end of the month. Once the site is functional I will be working on a version 2 once I learn the basics of the code and how everything works together. I have been able to use the downloaded docs to figure out how to remove the New Product listing that by default is shown on the main page. What I want to do is make that area that use to be new products a category area. For example TV's, entertainment centers, stands ect ect. Basically doing the same function as the smaller category area in the left column but is right in the center of the screen with bigger clickable categories icons. Create a new includes file much like the includes\modules\new_products.php with the category you want to display. Customize the table cells for bigger pictures. There is a gd contribution that creates thumbnails for better resolution of different image sizes. Thats for the images you want to place in the table cells. I wasnt sure if we was thinking the same thing. http://www.tradeshowdirect.com/store/index.html I was going to leave the category box in the left but I wanted to have my 9 main categories like the above shop has done where the new products of the month was, if that makes since.
