The Ultimate Shipping Module

What I'd like to see is a shipping module like Fedex Automated Labels Contribution (http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions,2244/category,all/search,fedex+auto)

 

Everything is automated and tracked through the osCommerce system.

 

Here are the features I'd like to see:

 

1. Tracking code automatically generated and emailed to user.

2. After verifying the order, I can print the shipping label right from admin

3. When tracking status is shipped, the system automatically emails user.

4. All this should be done w/o typing a single letter, just click click print ship.

 

That would be awesome :) I looked at some UPS XML/USPS API modules, but I don't think they offer this kind of features... wondering if anyone could help the community out w/ this contribution -- that would be :thumbsup:

That is a good idea and would be very beneficial. You could likely create something like that basing it off of the fedex contribution you mentioned. I'm sure if you got a rough version up and going and posted it many would help to polish it, but that's the key it takes someone to get the ball rolling... ;)

I would like to see this too... Does UPS's web API support all of this? Are there other programs that take advantage of this? Anyone know where to find out???
