Guest
I am trying to install OSCommerce locally on a Windows system (Apache 2.0, PHP 4.4.0, MySQL 4.1.13-nt) . I get the following error message at the New Installation / Database Import page: 'Client does not support authentication protocol requested by server; consider upgrading MySQL client' Any ideas what the problem is? MySQL version 4.1.14 is only just available, and I somehow doubt that will solve my problem...or will it? jb
♥Vger
Actually it's the other way round. Although the error message mentions upgrading it's really downgrading that's needed - else apply the fix mentioned here: http://www.oscommerce.com/forums/lofiversion/i...hp/t148268.html Vger
Guest
Yes! Setting the password style to 'old_password' as mentioned at the bottom of that thread works. Thank you very much for the quick reply.
