Category defined info boxes

Hi

I am looking for a way to have an info box appear related to the particular category.

eg: I have a snooker category, i want an info box with links in it to snooker stuff on my site like rules of play, instructions, general snooker info but i don't want it there unless your looking in the snooker category. I want to do this for around 5 categories. If they were there all the time my left column would be hammered with boxes and info thats not really relevant to most customers.

I hope that makes sense.

Any advice / Info appreciated.

Thanks :thumbsup:

Julian

Hi,

First off, i'm not good at php (i'm a copy/paster) but i made something simular... i altered it a little bit for your needs.. i hope you can use it somehow - or get a little closer to what you want...

in includes/column_left.php

	if (basename($PHP_SELF) == FILENAME_DEFAULT) {
 if (isset($_GET['cPath']) == 2) {
	 include(DIR_WS_BOXES . 'snookers.php');
 }
 else
 {
 include(DIR_WS_BOXES . 'default.php');
 }
}

I realy dont know here - i used it to show my categories only if the link was clicked to it.. so with the else i'm just showing something defaulth (empty)

and your cPath is the categorie id....

Hope i helped altleast a bit... Just play around with it i guess it should be a good start...

Kind Regards,

tom
