A few Quick Questions

I have a few questions

1. On the categories page i have a broken image in the top right hand corner.

It says its location is http://echophile.netfirms.com/store/nfoscomm/catalog/images/ but i dont know the filename so i cant put something there to stop it from being broken.

2. How do i get rid of the bar at the bottom of the site showing the date and time

3. How do i get rid of the bar wit hthe continue button at the bottom of the contact us and conditions of use pages.

4. How can i move the "Welcome back! Would you like to see which new products are available to purchase?" to below the pages text instead of on the top of the page. Even deleting it alltogether would be helpful

Any help would be greatly appreciated

1. point the mouse ptr on the image right-click->properties will show the image path+name

2. Open catalog\includes\footer.php remove/replace the table cell that has the date

3. Open catalog\contact_us.php there is some code that places the continue button

        <td><table border="0" width="100%" cellspacing="1" cellpadding="2" class="infoBox">
         <tr class="infoBoxContents">
           <td><table border="0" width="100%" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="2">
             <tr>
               <td width="10"><?php echo tep_draw_separator('pixel_trans.gif', '10', '1'); ?></td>
               <td align="right"><?php echo tep_image_submit('button_continue.gif', IMAGE_BUTTON_CONTINUE); ?></td>
               <td width="10"><?php echo tep_draw_separator('pixel_trans.gif', '10', '1'); ?></td>
             </tr>
           </table></td>
         </tr>
       </table></td>

just remove it

4. Open index.php locate

          <tr>
           <td class="main"><?php echo tep_customer_greeting(); ?></td>
         </tr>

move it wherever you want to

5. index.html has priority over index.php so you could simple rename your old index page to something else. Then the catalog\index.php will be the default.

But "The index.htm file must reside directly within the www directory of your account for it to be viewable"

yes, well in my case I have an additional index.php in the root directory that simply redirects to the equivalent catalog\ root file

what I know is that if I place an index.html it will try to load it before the index.php Finally I think there are also options you could setup with .htaccess to specify the default file to load.

Can you copy and paste your index file so i can do the same thing? :huh:

<?php

*/

 function redirect($url) {
   die('<meta http-equiv="refresh" content="0;URL='.$url.'">');
 }

 redirect('http:\\www.herbalfox.com/us');

?>
<!doctype html public "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN">
<html>
<head>
</head>
<body>
</body>
</html>

Of course you can add the meta-tags and page title/description. Now this is not a good idea for domain exposure as SEO dont like redirections. But...in my case I use it temporarily and I will eventually replace it with an intro page. One other thing is to remove references from your catalog to this root page because if you redirect you lose the session.

Yeah i was a bit worried about crawlers not liking my page because of redirection.

An intro page is another option but i think they are generaly annoying.

There must be some way to make the index file in http://www.echophile.com/store/nfoscomm/catalog be the homepage

I still cant find what the broken image should be. If you know how the page its on is

shows like this

http://echophile.netfirms.com/store/nfoscomm/catalog/images/

Looks like you havent assigned an image for the category in admin. There is an option in the admin to switch off image placeholders when no image is present. Look configuration->Images

There is an option for the .htaccess to setup your home page and use whatever name you want; it redirects to your domain specified page when no page php, html etc is present

Thanks for all your help, one last thing

When i list my products

product 1

product 2

product 3

etc

it goes

1

10

11

12

2

3

4

is there any way to stop it doing that?

yes much like names sorted alphabetically. Now you could change sorting based on price, weight, stock qty; depends on the sort preference. Look in catalog\includes\modules\product_listing.php
