Downloads Controller v5.3 question

Recommended Posts

Hi, i recently installed this contribution, however in the readme, it says:

"Add the new configuration settings with the downloads_controller.sql file. This will add the new settings for the Admin."

Not sure if I understand this correctly. Does this mean the software was supposed to come witha downloads_controller.sql file, or am i supposed to create one? If so, is it just supposed to be blank or are there some fields im supposed to make within it?

Any suggestions on the configuration of this software is appreciated. Currently, im using the snapshot + phpmyadmin.

Thanks

Using phpmy admin insert the downloads_controller.sql which comes as part of the contribution into the the database

Open the db, Choose SQL and the just put the lacation of the text file(downloads_controller.sql), using the Browse button into the dialog box and click GO

Sorry I know your responding to the other post but I'm in the same boat. There is no text file with the extension .sql there is only php's.

I just looked at the contribution I have on my computer and it has the sql file. What version are you trying to use?

Amazing how something like that can drive you crazy. I'll try tonight and see how I go. Thanks.

Finally, I have the downloads controller working perfectly. That's right no errors. Thanks to all who have written in. I must say though if someone is going to put up a contribution please make sure you have all the files included. It has cost me and a lot of others, a lot of time trying to find the sql file and work out why we were getting all the errors. From what I have read this has driven a lot of people insane. I almost gave up on it myself. A special thanks to kingDP whose post pointed me in the right direction.

I have just upgraded my site in less than 15 minutes and I'm no expert in php.

Couple of quick questions.

I have this download controller installed on my site

http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions,135

I was wondering if Downloads Controller v5.3 has a way to manually reset the downloads for customers ? Also, how hard is it to update from the one that I am using to this one ?

Thanks for your time,

Rebekah
