Local install

I would like to insall osCommerece on my pc so i can run it and get the idea of how it works before i go ahead and upgrade my web space to run os. I use dreamweaver 6.0 to creat my pages and i know i can us it for php as well can some one tell me if its pos and if so how

It's possible, but there are many different ways of doing it. Easiest way to handle it if you don't know what you're doing:

Then download OSCommerce and follow the instructions.

Sorry i dont get this i have downloaded XAMPP but i dont know what to do with it in order to run osCommerece on my pc do i veiw it through dreamweaver or What?? :( sorry for being thick but we all have to start somewhere!!!

Install XAMPP, and then follow the advice in my 'Quick Install Guide' - link below my name.

 

If you drop the entire osCommerce 'catalog' folder into the htdocs folder you have now with XAMPP installed, then once the install is complete your osC site will be available at http://localhost/catalog.
