Maybe you have cpanel or something similar on your server to protect the folder? ♥Vger Posted August 29, 2005 Share Posted August 29, 2005 Before you start writing .htaccess files yourself why not check out your web hosting control panel - which probably has a Password Protection feature which will write the files for you. darkgrove Posted September 9, 2005 Share Posted September 9, 2005 So I'm running into a problem, I've created an htaccess file and the username/password box pops up and then I enter the password and it doesn't do anything.
