Idoru
Hi, Ive just installed oscommerce on my server and everything is fine. I'm just perplexed as to why the www.myserver.com/catalog/admin/ isnt password protected. Anybody can access this page and edit away?
Winterchild
Anybody can access this page and edit away? Yes. Protecting admin is your own responsibility. Maybe you have cpanel or something similar on your server to protect the folder? You can use htaccess to protect the folder (search the forum or use google for more info) Or you can install a contribution to secure the admin (don't know how safe those are though) Forum search Contributions search Documentation search (note: docs being adapted for MS3, may be different for MS2) 3 tips for better forum searching Want to post? ♥Vger
Before you start writing .htaccess files yourself why not check out your web hosting control panel - which probably has a Password Protection feature which will write the files for you. darkgrove
So I'm running into a problem, I've created an htaccess file and the username/password box pops up and then I enter the password and it doesn't do anything. It just asks it again and again. Does anyone have an idea whats up with this?
