jackat
I'm building an online store and am trying to install OSCommerce through my hosting provider's admin pages. It won't let me, because apparently it includes an images folder and I already have an images folder in the root directory of my site. I don't want to change the name of my existing images folder because it will change the path for all my images and it will take alot of work to fix. I want to know if I can just create a folder in my root and call it osCommerce and install everything there? Will this work and will osCommerce work properly that way? Please advise....thanks.. (I feel compelled to say I'm new to all this so if responses could be sort of dumbed-down for me I'd appreciate it)
COOLumbia
I want to know if I can just create a folder in my root and call it osCommerce and install everything there? Sure. You can install in any folder you like. Some people use CATALOG, I used STORE, but you can use osCommerce if you like. Then your images would go to osCommerce/images folder.
