Guest
Setting up for the 1st time, and I am unable to edit files such as the privacy.php file. I get this message Error: I can not write to this file. Please set the right user permissions on: /home/thewitch/public_html/clearance//privacy.php My permissions are set to:755 I also do not see how/where to add the text of the page (such as my privacy statement)
♥Vger
Firstly your configure.php file may be set up incorrectly - notice the double slash between 'clearance' and 'privacy.php'. Next you should not use the osCommerce File Manager to edit files. Read the 'Parse Error' link below my name for how to edit files correctly. Finally, the privacy.php file you actually edit is the one in the includes/languages/english/ folder Vger

I do not know anything about php so I have not done anything to it other than the things you do from the control panel such as inputting my mailing address and things like that. ♥Vger
If this is installed in a folder called 'clearance' then the most common cause of the double shash would be to have your http_server address entered as http://www.yourdomain.com/ and have your path_to_catalog entered as /catalog/ If this is the case then you need to lose the slash on the end of your domain name. Vger <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I don't have a clue, it was auto installed from my webhost. But when I go into the file manager on my host control panel it does not show the double slash on the path names or URLs, so I do not know why the error message shows 2 slahes. That same file displays as http://www.thewitchescupboard.com/clearance/privacy.php in my control pannel.
♥Vger
The double slash is sometimes something you see when using the File Manager, which does not actually exist. Looks like that's what is happening here. Vger
