Changing Boxes BG Colour

I apologise if this has been asked before, but I cannot find any reference to it in the forums...

 

Is there a way to change each boxes background colour instead of them all being changed in the style sheet?

 

For example, I need the 'New Products' box to be #FFFFFF as my images are not transparent, but I want Categories and all the other boxes (apart from What's New) to be a different colour. How can I do this?

 

Also if I wanted to center my store, is there a way of doing this without me having to alter each individual file?
