Guest
ok so I tried the scroll contribution, works well, but when I go to the w3c validator page it complains about the marquee element itself and its attributes I use like behavior, align etc. Searched around a bit could not figure out if the page type causes this or something else. I know with old browsers this element does not work just wondering if there is a page setting that could rectify this. Thanks
radders
I don't think it works with modern browsers either. Isn't it just one of those quirky Internet Explorer things?
Guest
Well also works with firefox, opera etc I think in general with newer browsers. I also know that does not work with old browsers like ns4x. Now I also read that it could make my page non-standard with w3c just was hoping if there is a way to describe a page for such customizations otherwise I will just live with it. radders
Gosh you are right! It does work in Firefox. That surprised me because I am used to seeing vertical scrolling boxes in Firefox that don't scroll. I didn't know that marquee was a horizonal scroll. I suppose it has a use for news items but I kind of agree with them that it isn't really to be encouraged. Too easy to abuse it :-)
