If you are having problems uploading descriptions with quotes using easy populate the situation can be resolved by making sure that your easypopulate.php file has this code:

// **** Quote -> Escape character conversion ****
// If you have extensive html in your descriptions and it's getting mangled on upload, turn this off
// set to 1 = replace quotes with escape characters
// set to 0 = no quote replacement
global $replace_quotes;
$replace_quotes = false;

The setting is set to true by default.

Double quotes do not work so do not use them in your descriptions. You can only use single quotes that are escaped: \' That was what worked for me.

I've written this because I have seen other posts with the same problem and no answer for them.
