emtra7626 Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 Hello all, I am an absolute newbie with a basic understanding of html, and I was able to get OSC installed on my host server (thanks to their pre-installed script). I intend to set up an online used bookstore, and I need to know what I should use to create a database of my inventory and how I should integrate it into OSC. I basically just need the Title, Author, Year Published, Publisher, Edition, Description and Price as well as a picture or two. (also a search capability, but I hope i'm correct in assuming that OSC includes that functionality by default?) I would also like to accept paypal payments, as well as cc orders ( I already have a merchant account at my physical address). Anyone out there willing to hold my hand a little :rolleyes: ?

Dont worry about inventory in your database, osCommerce will do it automatically....it's already set your database tables up for you. Pay pal is as easy as enabling it in your osCommerce admin area, and entering your paypal email address... :)

How do I enter my books for sale? I understand the Categories part, just not the product information..it's set up in the default demo mode showing dvd's. How can I customize the product info? I really appreciate your patience :)
