What do I copy to the shared SSL Space?

There are 2 different kinds off shared SSLs.

With the best, and easiest to use kind, your account on the SSL is set up so that the URL point directly back to your main site, via a symbolic link. In other words,

https://secure.yourhost.com~youraccount

goes to the exact same place as

http://www.yourdomain.com

If this is the case, you do not need to copy any files to a secured folder. All you have to do is put the https url (https://secure.yourhost.com~youraccount) in your configure.php in the appropriate variable definition.

If you do not have this type of shared SSL, then you would have to copy the entire cart to the shared SSL. In my experience, if you do not have the first type of shared SSL, then it is extremely difficult to get the shared SSL to work, and you are probably better off spending the $49 per year to purchase an SSL of your own, and having it installed on your account.

NOTE: As of Oct 2006, I'm not as active in this forum as I used to be, but I still work with osC quite a bit.

If you have a question about any of my posts here, your best bet is to contact me though either Email or PM in my profile, and I'll be happy to help.
