Guest
Hello Can anyone help please... I don't need the shipping part of osCommerce because I'm selling subscriptions to a website advice service. I want to bypass the shipping information in the checkout and not have any default shipping charge added at the payment page. I'm using Paypal as the only payment option. I've looked through the forums but can't find any relevant threads. Thank you
lee246
cant you just disable all shipping modules in admin?
Mighty Mike
in your admin panel i am sure you can turn it off, then you could just make someadjustments to your code and remove the shipping part
jenso
If you have virtual products you do not need shipping. Disable shipping and that should do it. OSC can handle virtual products, for example, payed downloads as well. That might be for you. Rich
mousewebdesign
Hi there, I've got a similar problem, but just with a few articles, not for all of them. Besides the 'normal' products I sell where shipping is needed, I also sell classes to train people. For these training is a setup-fee which you can buy through the webshop, but ofcourse for these setup-fees there is no shipping needed. Does anyone know if it is possible to disclude shipping from one category?
♥Vger
You need to read up on the Downloads functioning of osCommerce. Once you enable downloads you input a weight for those products that require shipping and no weight for those that are 'virtual'. Vger

Vger <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'm sorry, I might be stupid but I have no idea what you're talking about. Could you please tell me what you mean by 'once you enable downloads you input a weight for those products...'. Setup-fees are not downloadable, you just have to buy it. There's nothing to ship. But for all the other products I have, they have to be shipped, but are also no downloads...
Guest
Thanks for the suggestions. As is often the case, it was easier than I thought to remove the shipping cost. Darren H

I think he means set up the no ship items as a download, in other words an Eproduct (then have perhaps a word document for the download?) To do a download it looks like we need to add this contribution: http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contri...load+controller Can anyone else explain how to do this? Otherwise I will report back once I have it figured out. Kitty OpenSkyWebDesign.com
