I set myself up as a new customer, then placed an order requiring check or money order for payment. My settings include email addresses in: E-mail Address, E-mail From, and Send extra order e-mails to. E-mail transport method is sendmail (I am on a linux server hosted by a third party.) Verify through DNS is false, and use MIME is false.

I made some changes. For some unknown reason, I had all of UUnet blocked from my site. I removed all the blocks except for a couple of spiders specific ip addresses now. Also, I just moved the address of the cart to http://www.towncorp.net/downtown. It works from my browser. I don't have an index.htm in towncorp.net so you are subject to getting my 404 page, the "end of the interenet".

 

I tried using SMTP and sendmail. Before I removed and reinstalled osCommerse, the admin area showed that a notification email had been sent to the buyer. HOwever, I did not receive either email for the buyer or the store manager.

 

I see someone else has a similar thread. Apparently there is a bug. I appear to have the latest version of osCommerse, but I don't know how to know if I have all the patches. The software is provided as part of the package from my web-host ISP.

Resolved!

 

My ISP reinstalled the system and modified email.php so it will access the SMTP servers which are housed on separate servers. My final problem was due to a password with a reserved character in it that caused confusion to the php, Linux, or the email server, one.
