Newbie: Pre-Installation Problem

This is embarrassing! I am still at the pre-installation stage. I read that I have to chmod catalog/includes/configure.php file to 777 using a ftp program, before I can install catalog on my server.

 

I tried using SmartFTP and DW to do so. Following instructions, I right-click on the above configure.php file, but there is no 'Properties/CHMOD' option to allow me to CHMOD. I could see only 'Properties' at the bottom on right-click.

 

In SmartFTP, I tried the 'Commands' but 'CHMOD' is also not available.

Thanks for your input! In Flashfxp, when I type Ctrl-O (chmod command) on the configure.php file in my local drive, it will open up this configure.php in DW as a blank white page. A right-click in DW offers no 'Properties/CHMOD' option, only 'Properties' is shown.

 

I know I must have missed something somewhere somehow but just dunno what it is...please help. Thanks so much!! I really appreciate it.
